Belong Network trustees have announced the appointment of a new CEO for the organisation.

Jamie Scudamore has already taken up his post and begun meeting people from Belong’s member organisations and partners.

Jamie’s previous roles have focused on leading local delivery for national charities, including Head of Networks at Mind, Chief Membership Officer of the Scouts and, most recently, as a Director at the Prince’s Trust.

Shalni Arora, co-chair of Trustees at Belong, said:

“We are very pleased to be welcoming Jamie into his new role as Chief Executive Officer, and delighted to see him bringing a breadth of relevant experience into the organisation.

“Building on Belong’s successes to date, and working closely with our members around the country, Jamie will apply his energy and vision to developing the organisation, enriching and deepening our partnerships, and sustaining Belong’s important work for social cohesion and integration.”

Miriam Juan Torres, co-chair of trustees, added:

“The Belong team have a great track record of working to build good relationships and positive social connections – and to tackle the problems of polarisation and division in society.

“The charity’s trustees are ambitious to embed this work more fully in local areas, and to make our contribution to national policy debate – and we’re looking forward to working with Jamie as he leads the team forward.”

Jamie said:

“I’m delighted to be joining Belong at such a critical time for community cohesion across the UK. Belong’s member organisations are building stronger, more resilient communities every day and I’m looking forward to supporting them alongside Belong’s team of trustees, staff and associates.”
