This short briefing paper provides a breakdown of the multiple dimensions of integration, describing them as: structural; social; civic and political; cultural and identity. It examines factors that affect integration, from the individual level through to the policy level and introduces a "Model of Integration Processes. This model is a tool for understanding the complexity and multi-dimensionality of integration with implications for policy and practice.
