Our Power of Connection Toolkit takes you through everything you need to know to bring people from more diverse backgrounds into your organisation and strengthen the wider community around you. It’s suitable for any size organisation with any cause – and it’s FREE. Sign up for a free workshop to find out more and get started.

About the Toolkit

The Power of Connection Toolkit is a free online resource for any volunteer-involving organisation to access. It contains guidance and best practice examples on how volunteering can be designed to strengthen social cohesion at a local level. It draws on the latest research and evidence on volunteering and social cohesion using a bespoke theory of change.

Launched last year, the toolkit was funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport plus contributions from members of the Shaping the Future with Volunteering group.

About the workshops

The workshops take place online. By the end you will have a good understanding of how the toolkit works, the principles and Theory of Change underpinning it, and some ideas of how you’ll be able to take it forward within your own organisation. It’s also a chance to meet and connect with others supporting volunteers around the UK, share ideas and build your professional network.

Following the workshop you’ll be able to work through the modules of the toolkit at your own pace, building a bespoke plan that provides volunteering opportunities to break down barriers and increase inclusion among under-represented groups. It’s also a way to build the wider resilience of the communities your organisation serves.

If you find the toolkit useful, Belong can arrange further bespoke training and support for your organisation.
