“Refugee Dine with Me” Toolkit

A simple initiative from the Diocese of Salford that helps welcome refugees and asylum seekers and creates new connections in communities. Through this initiative, families are supported to invite refugees and asylum seekers into their homes to enjoy a meal together. Other activities are also encouraged, such as day trips to the countryside and visits to historic landmarks. The initiative is facilitated through “host” organisations (such as churches or community groups) working in partnership with refugee and asylum seeker agencies to pair people up and oversee delivery, including ensuring that safeguarding procedures are followed. The toolkit provides: • Everything you need to start thinking about and planning your own “Refugee Dine with Me” programme in your community • Templates for sign-up forms, posters and leaflets, feedback forms, etc. • A case study from Salford
